Meal Prep and Doing Something I Never Thought I’d Do Again….

At least not without doing IVF.  I emailed my RE asking for a birth control prescription.  My hope is that it will take away my almost 2 weeks of horrible endo cramping so that I don’t have to deal with that while also recovering from my BR surgery in July.  I’m also hoping that it will stop the endo from growing while I’m on it and that will give the oil protocol I’m doing for endo and female infertility a chance to really start working.

I didn’t get a chance to do last week’s Friday Favorites because life has just been busy and getting more so these next couple of weeks.  I’m in my 4th week of going to Eupraxia (and haven’t made it there yet this week…grrr) so now that I have started getting the workouts to be a habit, I started on meal prep this week.  I spent yesterday morning chopping up veggies and putting together salads in a jar for the week.

The weather also finally got warm this past week.  Our flowers in the front of the house really came out this weekend and I’m loving how many buds we have this year!

I’ve been doing a Business Builders class with my Young Living team the past couple Sundays and I just love how it motivates me to continue sharing and helping people when I can.  Having these oils have changed J and I’s lives and the way we look at health and wellness.  We’re rarely ever sick because of the boost we get to our immune systems from our daily shot of Ningxia Red and Thieves.  I love this Luci bag I bought to help me share when I’m in public.  I suck at going out of my comfort zone to talk to people so I’m hoping this bag will have other people striking up conversations with me.  🙂

A couple of last pics for you…J and I heading to a wedding dinner for his cousin and sweet Bandit voluntarily getting in the puppy pool which he hated last year!

I hope all is well with you Ladies and I hope you’re having a fantastic week!

Final Decision

I let the SW know this morning that we don’t feel that we are a good fit for M.  I feel bad because every child deserves a loving home.

Unfortunately, she just didn’t fit in with us for several reasons.

  1. L didn’t warm up to her at all throughout the weekend and that’s unusual for her.
  2. J and I, unfortunately didn’t really warm up to her either.  When we first met L, we felt bonded to her by the end of the night and that just didn’t happen with M.
  3. She’s 11 yrs old, but in some ways, even less mature than L and yet, she still wanted to try and mother her which didn’t go over so well.
  4. When school starts again and J is coaching, I am not going to have the time to meet both hers and L’s needs.
  5. We have no idea what’s going to happen when L’s BM gives birth.  We don’t know if the baby will stay with her or if we’ll get a call and we don’t know how L is going to react because she NEVER talks about it.
  6. Ultimately, L is our first priority and she just didn’t seem comfortable.  On top of that, L has made so much progress on her behavior and we felt that M’s behavior may cause L to go backwards.  Plus, because of some things in M’s background, we couldn’t really let them just play on their own without listening in and making sure nothing inappropriate was being said and honestly, it’s exhausting.

So, while I think J and I both feel bad that we’re not giving M the same loving home we have given L, I really think it’s best for all involved.

Friday Favorite (a day late again) v4

Hi Ladies…a day late again which is slightly hilarious because I called out of work yesterday due my back being out so I totally should have made the time to get this out.  Instead I spent most of the day catching up on your blogs and watch Gilmore Girls (again). Onto my favorite things that happened this week:

We got a new boat!

Well, new to us anyways.  I think the guy was trying to sell it for $3000 ish and J talked him down to $2000 due to something not working on it.  He got home and managed to fix the problem within like 10 minutes or so.  I will seriously stop teasing him about his you tube videos now.  That man is so darn handy and even though I sometimes get irritated that he doesn’t just let me call someone to just get it done, he really does save us a ton of money!  I don’t have a pic of the boat yet, but I guess they took it out the other night on the nearby lake while I was at an event and it ran well.

L tried soccer for the first time!

L did a week long soccer clinic this week.  Of course, the weather was rainy and chilly all week and she now has a cold, but it was fun to watch her try something new.  She did great during the first 20 minute game this morning, but quickly lost energy and focus due to the freezing cold here today and the cold that she came down with.  I also got to catch up with some of the other Moms I knew including one of my old daycare Moms that I totally miss so that was nice.

I did a Young Living event!

Thursday night my Sis and I headed to my Chiropractor’s office for a Ladies Night Out event and got to chat oils for a few hours with some wonderful ladies.  I love hanging out with my Sissy so the night would have been fun no matter what!  Unfortunately, a not so favorite thing that happened this week was when the event was over, I was kneeling down on the floor packing my bags and when I went to get up, I couldn’t move.  My back was officially out and it was oh so painful!!!  Thank God I was at my chiro’s office when this happened so once everyone cleared out and they got the exam rooms back together, he adjusted me.  I was hurting big time though and could barely walk so I called out of work on Friday and went in for another adjustment and just spent the day resting until L and J got home from school.  I would say I’m 95% back to normal though now and so thankful that my chiro is also a good friend and daycare parent because he totally texted me this morning to check on me.  Very sweet of him!

Other than that, I made it to Eupraxia 3 days this week.  Monday morning I woke up at 3:30 with those fun, excruciating endo cramps and I was still hurting a bit at 5:30am so I didn’t get up and go and then of course J ended up going to look at the boat we got that night so I couldn’t go to an evening class neither because L had soccer.  Friday morning I could barely move so it didn’t happen again.  😦  I am going to try and go Monday night and just ask for some modifications so I don’t over do it with my back still not totally strong.

We also currently are doing respite care for that possible placement but by the end of last night, we knew already that it won’t be a good fit.  She will be going into middle school next year and her needs are pretty high.  With J coaching most of the school year, I’m just not going to have the time and attention to give her and L.  Especially because we have no idea if we’ll end up with L’s baby sibling at some point.  We also have no clue how L is going to react when the baby is actually born, especially if baby stays with BM and H while L is still with us.  I can tell L is having a hard time with having her here too, part of it may be she’s just not feeling well, but they are very different in what they enjoy doing and although M is very immature and doesn’t always say or do appropriate things, she also tries to mother L and I don’t think L is really liking that too much.  I think L would do better with someone much closer to her age or younger if we took in more placements.

Alright, sorry for no pics this week!  Kind of a boring update but that’s what went down in our household this week.  I hope y’all have a great weekend!

Possible New Placement

We got a call yesterday from the same county we have L through.  There’s a 10 yr old girl needing placement at the end of the school year.  I got some of the major details from the SW and when J stopped home from lunch we discussed it.  If we thought L’s story was heartbreaking, this girl’s is even worse.  😦

After talking it through, not too long mind you because this one immediately pulled at both our heartstrings (as I’m sure they all will!); we decided we would do a respite care weekend with her this coming weekend and get more of an idea if it would be a good fit for both her and L.

We, of course, want to help them all, but need to consider the people, especially the kiddo that is already living here.  Hopefully though, it will go well and they’ll get along.  It does sound like L, even though she’s only 6, may have a higher maturity level.  I think this is probably going to be a situation that if we do have her placed with us, L might actually have the role of older Sister showing her how a stable, loving family works.

I will update you guys next week and let you know how it goes!  🙂

Friday Favorites v3

Hello and welcome to another Friday Favorites!  So happy it’s Friday and seriously ready to get this weekend started.  🙂  Onto my favorite things of the week…

Newborn Baby snuggles!

Sweet Baby I started at daycare with me on Monday.  Her parents are good friends of ours.  They’re our small group leaders for our Bible Study and our mentors through adoption.  Their 3 older children are all adopted and last Christmas (2014) they decided to give IVF a try.  Their first cycle failed, but they did another one this summer and Baby I was the result.  She is such a snuggler and I loved every moment of it.  🙂  She’s just here on Mondays because they’re only a part time family and Mom is working from home on their other day here right now so I stays with her while H comes here to play with her friends.

This past Saturday, I started at a new gym called Eupraxia.  They were doing a 30 days for $30 deal and I am loving it!!!!  The only day I missed this week was Thursday and I totally regretted it.  I was groggy all day and a bit cranky.  It’s a lot of high intensity intervals and I usually do the 6am class.  That way I have enough time to hop in the shower quick before J gets up and I have to get L up for school.  I also did their nutrition class last night.  A lot of it I already knew from what I’ve learned being a part of Young Living, but there were definitely some interesting statistics there…like 76% of Americans are on prescription pills…whoa!!!  Just another reason why I am sooooo freakin’ happy that I found YL over 2 years ago now.  It’s seriously changed my life for the better.  Wednesday was kickboxing and I pretty much said fuck you over and over as I hit the bag to infertility and fibromyalgia.  Here’s a pic after class was over.  🙂IMG_0618

Getting my hair colored and cut!

There’s just something about getting away for a couple hours and having someone pamper you.  Plus, I adore my hair stylist.  She has dealt with infertility for 15 years but they chose to live childfree (well, not actually childfree because they had custody of his daughter) so I guess really, they just chose to forgo treatments.  Either way, she just gets it and we always have amazing chats.  I also got to scoot out of work early (J watched the kids for the last 15 minutes or so) so I could get to this appt. on Wednesday.  L came with and my Mom picked her up and took her to her house to play with my niece.

Young Living

I just love, love, love this company and everything they are about!  The integrity and the philanthropy that they do is just amazing and their products are all about promoting health and wellness with absolutely no synthetics involved.  I love how they treat their customers and distributors.  I’m hoping to make Silver by the end of the summer so I don’t have to worry so much about getting full time daycare kids and can concentrate on doing more fostering instead.

And last, but certainly not least, my handy man Husband!

He got the new sink in this week and it’s amazing!  A little more counter top room and it’s not all stained up.  Love it!IMG_0621

We are off to Minocqua (tiny town in Northern WI) for the weekend as soon as the last dc kid leaves today.  One of J’s coworkers invited to come up and stay in their 3 br cabin with them.  The downside…she’s pregnant (due in Oct.).  Luckily, for the most part, this doesn’t bother me too much anymore unless it’s someone that seriously has no business being pregnant because they can’t take care of the ones they already have.

I hope y’all have a great weekend!

Omg, Omg, Omg….

our insurance approved my breast reduction surgery!!!!!  Okay, not nearly as exciting as being pregnant, sorry if I made anyone think that would be the news, but guys, this is huge!

I have wanted this surgery for so long and thought about it for years and I really thought insurance would say no because they don’t even cover my chiropractic care.  This news totally turned my day around after finding out that my only full time kid I had for next year was not going to be coming back….grrr!

Now, J, probably not going to be nearly as excited about this news but hopefully he’ll continue to take the approach of if it makes me happy, it makes him happy, lol.

So, surgery is scheduled for July 11th because I have a Young Living conference in SLC at the end of June.  I am so, so, so excited!!!  Until then, I’m going to continue focusing on working out.  I started at this new gym my neighbor goes to because they had a 30 days for $30 deal and I’m really liking it.  I take the 6am class (which totally sucks to get out of bed).  It’s not crossfit because we’re not doing huge weights, it’s pretty much kettle bells and body weight, but there is a WOD and not the kind of gym that you show up to anytime you want and do your workout.  Problem is, I’m now going to have to have 2 gym memberships.  😦

So, yep, that’s my big news that totally couldn’t wait until Friday favorites.  🙂

Hope you’re all having a great week!
