Friday Favorite (a day late again) v4

Hi Ladies…a day late again which is slightly hilarious because I called out of work yesterday due my back being out so I totally should have made the time to get this out.  Instead I spent most of the day catching up on your blogs and watch Gilmore Girls (again). Onto my favorite things that happened this week:

We got a new boat!

Well, new to us anyways.  I think the guy was trying to sell it for $3000 ish and J talked him down to $2000 due to something not working on it.  He got home and managed to fix the problem within like 10 minutes or so.  I will seriously stop teasing him about his you tube videos now.  That man is so darn handy and even though I sometimes get irritated that he doesn’t just let me call someone to just get it done, he really does save us a ton of money!  I don’t have a pic of the boat yet, but I guess they took it out the other night on the nearby lake while I was at an event and it ran well.

L tried soccer for the first time!

L did a week long soccer clinic this week.  Of course, the weather was rainy and chilly all week and she now has a cold, but it was fun to watch her try something new.  She did great during the first 20 minute game this morning, but quickly lost energy and focus due to the freezing cold here today and the cold that she came down with.  I also got to catch up with some of the other Moms I knew including one of my old daycare Moms that I totally miss so that was nice.

I did a Young Living event!

Thursday night my Sis and I headed to my Chiropractor’s office for a Ladies Night Out event and got to chat oils for a few hours with some wonderful ladies.  I love hanging out with my Sissy so the night would have been fun no matter what!  Unfortunately, a not so favorite thing that happened this week was when the event was over, I was kneeling down on the floor packing my bags and when I went to get up, I couldn’t move.  My back was officially out and it was oh so painful!!!  Thank God I was at my chiro’s office when this happened so once everyone cleared out and they got the exam rooms back together, he adjusted me.  I was hurting big time though and could barely walk so I called out of work on Friday and went in for another adjustment and just spent the day resting until L and J got home from school.  I would say I’m 95% back to normal though now and so thankful that my chiro is also a good friend and daycare parent because he totally texted me this morning to check on me.  Very sweet of him!

Other than that, I made it to Eupraxia 3 days this week.  Monday morning I woke up at 3:30 with those fun, excruciating endo cramps and I was still hurting a bit at 5:30am so I didn’t get up and go and then of course J ended up going to look at the boat we got that night so I couldn’t go to an evening class neither because L had soccer.  Friday morning I could barely move so it didn’t happen again.  😦  I am going to try and go Monday night and just ask for some modifications so I don’t over do it with my back still not totally strong.

We also currently are doing respite care for that possible placement but by the end of last night, we knew already that it won’t be a good fit.  She will be going into middle school next year and her needs are pretty high.  With J coaching most of the school year, I’m just not going to have the time and attention to give her and L.  Especially because we have no idea if we’ll end up with L’s baby sibling at some point.  We also have no clue how L is going to react when the baby is actually born, especially if baby stays with BM and H while L is still with us.  I can tell L is having a hard time with having her here too, part of it may be she’s just not feeling well, but they are very different in what they enjoy doing and although M is very immature and doesn’t always say or do appropriate things, she also tries to mother L and I don’t think L is really liking that too much.  I think L would do better with someone much closer to her age or younger if we took in more placements.

Alright, sorry for no pics this week!  Kind of a boring update but that’s what went down in our household this week.  I hope y’all have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites v.2

Phew…hello Friday!  Most of the week went pretty smoothly (work wise anyways) but I didn’t think today was ever going to end.  Anyways, onto some of my favorite things from the past week.

I’m a person that loves changing things up.  I don’t like anything staying the same for too long and that includes the paint on the walls and the my bedding.  So, I totally changed it up this week thanks to one of my favorite stores, Target!

We picked up paint tonight to match the new duvet cover and new shades to replace the mauve ones that have been here since we moved in.

We also FINALLY put in our new toilet that has literally been sitting on our deck for like a year.  Oh and by we, I pretty much mean J.  I helped a bit because it was a complete bitch getting that thing in, but really, it was mostly J.  🙂

We also are finally putting in a new vanity top but that’s also a complete bitch to put in (and again, I mean J’s putting it in).  That will have to be in next Friday’s favorites because he’s still working on getting plumbing to line up.

Last weekend, one of my dreams came true.  I got to watch L have a childhood a bit like mine was.  Saturday was a gorgeous day out and L and the kids in the house 2 down from us (they’ve become good friends of ours) ran back and forth between our houses playing all afternoon.  It so reminded me of my childhood and what I would want my children to have also.  Here they are playing play doh on our deck!

This little guy has stolen my heart and unfortunately, his family will be moving away at the end of the school year (his Mom is L’s teacher).  He was out the first couple days this week with pink eye and then Thursday morning he was super grumpy and had a fever due to shots.  This morning however, he was totally doing that cute sleep with his butt up in the air when I went in to check on him and it just melted my heart all over again.

A couple of my favorite posts from NIAW week:

Elisha at Waitingforbabybird wrote this fantastic post.

Caroline at In Due Time with the help of several other bloggers put together this amazing post.

Every week I could probably have a pic of our pups in my favorites, but seriously, how cute are these 2?!

This Friday, I got a date night with my wonderful husband!  It was spent at Menard’s (a home depot, Lowes type store for those of you not in the midwest) picking out paint, shades and picking up our new front door that we got for super cheap because it was a display door and they had to make way for the new inventory.  Then we headed to Red Pines for some of my favorite pizza around here.

And last, but soooo not least, I have become a presenter with Younique.  If you’ve never heard of it, it’s a makeup/skin care company that doesn’t use chemicals in their make up.  It is the one area that I hadn’t switched to chemical free yet and I’m so glad I found them.  I currently have a party open if you would like to check out their products.  Here is the link:

If anyone would like to join my FB group, please send me an email (pdot95@gmail.com) and I will reply with my FB name so we can be FB friends.  Or if you just want to be FB friends and don’t want to be in the group, send me an email for that too and just let me know not to add you to the group.  🙂

So that’s it for this edition of Friday Favorites.  I hope y’all had an amazing week and a great weekend ahead!
