Hey Friends,

My Young Living order is going in today, if any of you would like to try anything, let me know.  You can see the products at http://www.youngliving.com and you will get my wholesale member price and then I would just have you add $5 for shipping.  I’ll pay for the tax and shipping to me, but then I’ll need to get it shipped out to you.  The ones that people commonly want to try to start with are Thieves (great for optimal immunity), lavender (so versatile!  helps with relaxation or the occasional sleeplessness, minor burns, bruises, can help slow down bleeding), peppermint (menstrual cramps, menstrual cramps, menstrual cramps!  This is my savior with my endo.  Also can help with motion sickness, energy, and fantastic to optimize wellness in your digestive system), lemon (I love lemon for getting sticky stuff out or off of things (it even works for gum in hair and smells a heck of a lot better than PB, it can help you focus during the occasional brain fog and is good for so many other things, or Pan Away (great for the occasional muscle discomfort).  You can email me at 1lovemyoilylife@gmail.com with your order or questions and I can give you my paypal info then.  🙂  I will update you on soon on what’s been happening here and heads up that the next post will be a protected post.  My usual password so if you need that, email me at pdot95@gmail.com.  Have a great week!

Disappearing Act

So, I suck…I’m sorry I dropped the news bomb of the failed adoption and then disappeared for the most part.  I’ve just been trying to either completely immerse myself in Gilmore Girls so that I don’t have to think or I’ve been working on Family Promise or my Young Living business.

My current goal for my Young Living business (besides helping people change their lives) is to be able to not worry about getting new daycare kids next school year if any of my current leave after this school year.  Our goal for Family Promise is to open January 1st!  We have a lot to do before then but we finally seem to have a team that’s willing to work hard to get it done in the next 5 months.  Lots of exciting stuff happening (including having Fridays off this year!!!).

What else?  J and I are working on our relationship.  It’s been a bit of a rough summer with me being in recovery and everything that went down.  We deal with it in very different ways and not always in healthy ways.  We’re working on better communication, spending time together and just getting back to being us.

Last Tuesday, I went to dinner with some girlfriends from my old church.  We used to get together every couple months for dinner when I lived in my hometown, but since I’ve moved, it’s been much less frequent.  In fact, I think it’s been close to 2 years since we’ve met up for dinner.  In all honestly, I should have begged off this time too.  Two of them have children and the 3rd is 34 weeks.  I was already a little hurt going in because I didn’t get an invite to her baby shower.  This is the woman that was with me when I got the news that my Dad had passed away and we ran our small group for youth group together.  Although they were very sympathetic to what we’ve been going through, most of the conversation revolved around their children, pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding.  Most of the time, I can handle that kind of thing like a champ, but in this case, it was just too soon after the failed adoption and my soul just ached by the end of dinner.  Needless to say, I don’t think I’ll be putting myself in that position again anytime soon.

Well, J wants me to be ready in a couple minutes to go show me something so I better get going.  Please head over to my new blog and follow me there too!  I’ll be doing a new post on this book that some of my team members have been raving about  (hopefully it’ll happen tonight yet)!  🙂

Sending you all lots of love!

Meal Prep and Doing Something I Never Thought I’d Do Again….

At least not without doing IVF.  I emailed my RE asking for a birth control prescription.  My hope is that it will take away my almost 2 weeks of horrible endo cramping so that I don’t have to deal with that while also recovering from my BR surgery in July.  I’m also hoping that it will stop the endo from growing while I’m on it and that will give the oil protocol I’m doing for endo and female infertility a chance to really start working.

I didn’t get a chance to do last week’s Friday Favorites because life has just been busy and getting more so these next couple of weeks.  I’m in my 4th week of going to Eupraxia (and haven’t made it there yet this week…grrr) so now that I have started getting the workouts to be a habit, I started on meal prep this week.  I spent yesterday morning chopping up veggies and putting together salads in a jar for the week.

The weather also finally got warm this past week.  Our flowers in the front of the house really came out this weekend and I’m loving how many buds we have this year!

I’ve been doing a Business Builders class with my Young Living team the past couple Sundays and I just love how it motivates me to continue sharing and helping people when I can.  Having these oils have changed J and I’s lives and the way we look at health and wellness.  We’re rarely ever sick because of the boost we get to our immune systems from our daily shot of Ningxia Red and Thieves.  I love this Luci bag I bought to help me share when I’m in public.  I suck at going out of my comfort zone to talk to people so I’m hoping this bag will have other people striking up conversations with me.  🙂

A couple of last pics for you…J and I heading to a wedding dinner for his cousin and sweet Bandit voluntarily getting in the puppy pool which he hated last year!

I hope all is well with you Ladies and I hope you’re having a fantastic week!

Friday Favorite (a day late again) v4

Hi Ladies…a day late again which is slightly hilarious because I called out of work yesterday due my back being out so I totally should have made the time to get this out.  Instead I spent most of the day catching up on your blogs and watch Gilmore Girls (again). Onto my favorite things that happened this week:

We got a new boat!

Well, new to us anyways.  I think the guy was trying to sell it for $3000 ish and J talked him down to $2000 due to something not working on it.  He got home and managed to fix the problem within like 10 minutes or so.  I will seriously stop teasing him about his you tube videos now.  That man is so darn handy and even though I sometimes get irritated that he doesn’t just let me call someone to just get it done, he really does save us a ton of money!  I don’t have a pic of the boat yet, but I guess they took it out the other night on the nearby lake while I was at an event and it ran well.

L tried soccer for the first time!

L did a week long soccer clinic this week.  Of course, the weather was rainy and chilly all week and she now has a cold, but it was fun to watch her try something new.  She did great during the first 20 minute game this morning, but quickly lost energy and focus due to the freezing cold here today and the cold that she came down with.  I also got to catch up with some of the other Moms I knew including one of my old daycare Moms that I totally miss so that was nice.

I did a Young Living event!

Thursday night my Sis and I headed to my Chiropractor’s office for a Ladies Night Out event and got to chat oils for a few hours with some wonderful ladies.  I love hanging out with my Sissy so the night would have been fun no matter what!  Unfortunately, a not so favorite thing that happened this week was when the event was over, I was kneeling down on the floor packing my bags and when I went to get up, I couldn’t move.  My back was officially out and it was oh so painful!!!  Thank God I was at my chiro’s office when this happened so once everyone cleared out and they got the exam rooms back together, he adjusted me.  I was hurting big time though and could barely walk so I called out of work on Friday and went in for another adjustment and just spent the day resting until L and J got home from school.  I would say I’m 95% back to normal though now and so thankful that my chiro is also a good friend and daycare parent because he totally texted me this morning to check on me.  Very sweet of him!

Other than that, I made it to Eupraxia 3 days this week.  Monday morning I woke up at 3:30 with those fun, excruciating endo cramps and I was still hurting a bit at 5:30am so I didn’t get up and go and then of course J ended up going to look at the boat we got that night so I couldn’t go to an evening class neither because L had soccer.  Friday morning I could barely move so it didn’t happen again.  😦  I am going to try and go Monday night and just ask for some modifications so I don’t over do it with my back still not totally strong.

We also currently are doing respite care for that possible placement but by the end of last night, we knew already that it won’t be a good fit.  She will be going into middle school next year and her needs are pretty high.  With J coaching most of the school year, I’m just not going to have the time and attention to give her and L.  Especially because we have no idea if we’ll end up with L’s baby sibling at some point.  We also have no clue how L is going to react when the baby is actually born, especially if baby stays with BM and H while L is still with us.  I can tell L is having a hard time with having her here too, part of it may be she’s just not feeling well, but they are very different in what they enjoy doing and although M is very immature and doesn’t always say or do appropriate things, she also tries to mother L and I don’t think L is really liking that too much.  I think L would do better with someone much closer to her age or younger if we took in more placements.

Alright, sorry for no pics this week!  Kind of a boring update but that’s what went down in our household this week.  I hope y’all have a great weekend!

Lots of Love~Dawn

My Oils are Here, My Oils are Here!!!

So excited!!  I ordered all the oils for the female infertility protocol that I wrote about here, and they have arrived.  I got one of those handy dandy pill containers (only makes me feel slightly older than I am, lol) and have already realized that I should have gotten the bigger one with spots for 3x a day.  Here are the pictures of my vitamins/supplements and oil regimen:

IMG_3293    IMG_3291

So on top of the oils that are listed in that protocol, I also use Progessence Plus (fantastic for any woman for keeping or getting hormones in balance, especially when you start going through menopause…hopefully we are all a long way away from that!) and I also use En-r-gee on my feet every morning to help me run after four 1 yr olds every day.  The bottle of juice on the right is called Ninxgia Red and I take a shot of this each morning.  You can read more about it here.

For supplements I take Flaxseed oil, Fish oil, prenatal with folic acid, vitamin D, Selanium, Young Living’s Super B and detoxyme, and then maca root.  The fish oil and vitamin D were suggested by my chiropractor.  The Super B and detoxyme were on my zyto scan report.  The zyto scan is an awesome tool that Young Living distributors can buy, you hook it up to your computer,  place your hand on it and it tells you what Young Living products your body needs at that time.  I don’t know exactly how it works but it’s amazing.  The first time I did it all the oils and supplements had to do with my menstrual cycle or emotionally, having the confidence to move forward and leave the past in the past.  It was spot on for what was going on in my life at that time.  This time, most of them had to do with weight loss or energy…all things I’ve been needing.  As always, if you have any questions about essential oils, please don’t hesitate to ask!  If I don’t know the answer off hand, I can certainly get the answer.  🙂

IUI #5 is NOT a Go :(

$300 worth of follistim in my fridge that is open because we had to use a whole 25 iu’s of it last cycle.  $300 worth of follistim that I don’t get to use for IUI #5 because it will go bad by then.  Cysts on both ovaries this month so they didn’t want to do the cycle.  $300 worth of follistim that even though I probably shouldn’t…I AM going to use unmonitored.  I CANNOT throw $300 out the window right now.

Has anyone else ever done anything like this?  (Please make me feel better by saying yes, lol.)

I think it can only do good, not be harmful.  If I would have insisted, they would have let me cycle but they didn’t recommend it.  Oils were immediately applied to ovaries to hopefully help them shrink instead of getting bigger and bursting.  I really don’t want to go through that pain.  Hoping my Sister has clove oil that I can get from her so I can do the oral option too and not just topical.  If anyone wants that protocol it is:  rub orange, then frankincense and the basil on your lower abdomen.  It smells really good til you put the basil on, lol.  For some reason, I just do not love the smell of the basil oil.

In all honesty, Ladies, I was a hot mess yesterday.  I was such a hot mess, that I couldn’t even sit down to write this post.  Cycles get cancelled all the time, I get that.  It had more to do with the stress of money and throwing out that medicine then having to sit out a month.  On top of that, I didn’t see my usual Dr., I saw the one that comes from Madison to do the IVF cycles.  I’d never met her before and although she was nice enough, she wasn’t Dr. R  or even Megan or Jamie who usually do my IUI’s.  She didn’t really know my story so it was just hard to take that news from her.

She also said that she doesn’t see many follicles in (or on, not sure the right word for it) my ovaries.  Just by looking at the ultrasounds she doesn’t think our chances with IVF are very good, maybe 35%.  She had me go to the lab for a blood draw so they could test my AMH and she wants us to come in for an IVF consult week after next (more about that later).  Now, we were leaning more towards adoption then IVF anyways, but Girls, I was devastated….DEVASTATED!!!!   To feel like that option was just ripped away from us in case we did find the money to do it just tore me apart.  I bawled all the way home and in J’s arms for quite a while after I got home.  And on the phone with my Mom after J left to go to some benefit thing.

J doesn’t want to go to the IVF consult…he doesn’t want to go to any Dr. this month because he says I just get stressed out and he just wants to take the month off.  What he doesn’t seem to grasp is that just because we’re taking the month off from IUI’s and dr.’s, doesn’t mean I’m not going to stress (I REALLY SUCK at giving my worries over to God).

So where does this leave us?  I don’t totally know.  I’ll finish up the follistim because I can’t stand to waste it.  Do OPK’s and TI and Pray, Pray, Pray!  Hopefully the cysts will go away peacefully and gently without pain and we will be ready to do IUI#5 next cycle.  I don’t know how many more J will let me do.  Again, he’s totally freaking out about money and credit card debt.  I can’t really blame him though, it is a little scary.  If we’re not pregnant by the end of the year, we will put our names in to hopefully start the adoption process in January.

I need to Thank you Ladies for all the comments and Love you send my way.  They mean so, so, so much to me.  Although most of my friends and family are very supportive, no one, not even J, can understand the way you Girls can.  Sending much Love, thoughts, Prayers, Baby Dust and Hugs to you all!!!!

Essential Oils and Fertility

I’ve been wanting to write a post about essential oils for awhile now and since I’ve seen a few of you mention them on your blogs, I thought now would be a good time.  I am going to start with a disclaimer.

I am in no way an expert or a medical professional.  I am not diagnosing in anyway but sharing the information that I have gathered over the last year (well, a year in November) working with essential oils.  I also want to say that I am an Independent distributor/wholesale member with Young Living.

The ONLY essential oils I will promote or suggest you use is Young Living Essential oils and this is why.   Young Living’s oils are pure therapeutic grade oils and to prove it, they not only test in house to make sure that each batch is up to snuff, they also send them out to 3rd party independent labs.  There are many other companies out there that also say they are pure therapeutic grade (they only need to have 5% of the pure oil in there to be able to say it) but they add synthetics to make them smell better and to bring production costs down.  I will put any of the Young Living oils in a capsule and ingest it, but I would never suggest that with any other company because the synthetics they may put in them can be toxic.  Also, anything you put on your skin gets into your blood stream in like 23 seconds, so if I’m not willing to swallow them, I’m also not willing to rub them on my skin.  One of Young Living’s most popular oils, Valor, has been out of stock for a long time (it’s nickname is Chiropractor in a bottle).  Although we all find it frustrating, it’s because one of the oils in it (it’s a blend) has not passed the tests to be pure therapeutic grade and he’s working on a new farm to grow that particular tree that he needs so it will be up to snuff.  If it doesn’t pass the rigorous tests, that oil will be out of stock until it does…Gary Young will not put out a less quality oil just to meet demands and that integrity is why they are the only company I will use or promote.   They also don’t price their oils on supply and demand, but on how much of the plant/tree they need to make the oil.  Example:  Rose oil is one of the most expensive oils they make because it takes 5000 lbs of rose petals to distill 1 lb of essential oil.  Where as lemon oil, one of the most versatile and popular oils there is only like $11 at the wholesale price for a 15 ml bottle (that’s 250-300 drops and you only need a drop or 2 at a time).

Now that I’ve shared a little bit of information about essential oils (and there is so much more to know…I haven’t even begun to learn all I can) and why I will only use Young Living, I wanted to share some protocols with you on infertility.  I went to a class a month or two ago called “Surviving with Modern Medicine Fails”.   This class is based on a book of that same name by Dr.  Scott A. Johnson.   This is from the About the Author section in the book:

Scott Johnson is the bestselling author of four books and more than 250 articles featured in online and print publications.  He has a doctorate in naturopathy and is a board certified Alternative Medical Practitioner (AMP).  His evidence-based approach to natural healing and experience conducting medical research makes him a leading expert on essential oils.  One of his research focuses is the safely of essential oils, and he has published internationally on the subject.  Scott draws on his wealth of experience and diverse educational background as he travels the globe to share the secrets of natural healing with those who seek greater wellness.

I wanted to share 3 protocols that he has in his book.  Again, if you choose to try any of these protocols, I would only use Young Living’s oils.

Retention – Mix 5 drops each of geranium, frankincense, melaleuca, cypress, and rosemary in once of carrier oil (coconut, olive, or YL’s V6 oil) apply to tampon, insert vaginally, and retain overnight.

Topical – Massage the abdomen with 3 drops of each of rosemary, copaiba, lavender and cypress and cover with a hot compress.  Apply Progressence Plus according to label instructions.  Apply 3-5 drops of oregano (this is a hot oil so you may want to dilute first) thyme, basil, cypress, wintergreen, marjoram, and peppermint (layered in that order, one at a time) to the spine and massage into back on either side of the spine twice weekly.

Oral – Take a capsule filled with 10 drops of sandalwood and 5 drops of copaiba 1 to 3 times daily.

Infertility, Female

Topical – Apply 2 to 4 drops  of clary sage to the lower abdomen and mons pubis twice daily.  Apply 1 drop each of clary sage to the inside and outside of right ankle.

Oral – Take a capsule filled with 2 drops each of ylang ylang and frankincense and 1 drop each of fennel, clary sage, and geranium twice daily.

(I ordered these oils in my essential rewards going out today so I will take a pic when they arrive to share)

Infertility, Male

Topical – Apply 2 drops each of basil, sandalwood, and goldenrod to the inside of the ankles and on the wrists.  Apply 2 drops of geranium, basil, and cypress to the lower abdomen above the penis twice daily.

Oral – Take a capsule filled with 2 drops each of ylang ylang, frankincense, basil and cypress twice daily.

These are the 3 I wanted to share today, but honestly, I would recommend getting the book, there are way more protocols for all sorts of issues in it (including fibroids, hyperthyroid, hypothyroid, and even hives Eventual Momma).   Plus he goes over what essential oils are, a brief history of them (used since biblical times), the importance of  oil purity and authenticity, usage and safety guidelines ( he tends to air on the side of caution and conservative), possible contradictions and drug interactions, skin sensitivity and reactions to topical usage and so much more.  If you would like to order the book, you can find it here on Amazon.

If you would like more information on Young Living or to look at their products, you can go to http://www.youngliving.org/drunning.  If you have any questions at all, please feel free to comment or email me at dawnrunning@transformationthyme.com.  You can also get my contact info through the website above.

I hope that you  find this information useful and that I didn’t bombard you with too much.  Essential Oils have become one of my passions and except for during this whole tooth pain crap, I have pretty much replaced all my OTC’s with essential oils and all my cleaning products too.  Next I need to work on replacing my personal care products…I’ve done a few…toothpaste, deodorant and hand soap, but need to work on shampoo, conditioner and body wash.  🙂  Again, feel free to ask any questions you may have!!!
